LovingCare Kindergarten provides a healthy morning tea and afternoon tea for the children consisting of 3 different types of fruit and vegetable and 1 carbohydrate*. Water is available to drink at all times.
Children who are attending a morning or full day session bring their own lunch box. We believe it is important for children to learn how to manage and eat their own lunches in preparation for school.
We have a healthy eating policy at the Kindergarten and parents are encouraged to provide well balanced lunch options. Juice, sweets, chips and cakes are not allowed. We are happy to help with lunch box ideas.
Children with specific allergies have morning tea prepared separately if required.
*Carbohydrates – cracker / plain biscuit / healthy mini muffin / toast or baking or cooking from earlier in the day.
Please include a set of spare clothes, a lunch box, a drink bottle, a hat and spare nappies (if applicable) in your child’s bag every day.
Children with diarrhoea or vomiting must be kept at home until well and for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting. Children will be excluded from the service following guidelines and recommendations from the Ministry of Health. This will be explained to parents, and children are allowed back once these criteria have been met.
Please make sure you contact the kindergarten if your child is sick, and ensure they remain at home until they are better.
Parents and caregivers are kept up to date through the Storypark system, emails, take home notices, posters, notice boards and signage.
Please ensure you keep us informed of any contact detail changes throughout the year.

It is essential that you notify the kindergarten of any absences, failure to do so may result in your child being removed from the kindergarten roll.
SICKNESS: Where your child is absent for up to one week – normal fees apply.
EXTENDED SICKNESS: If your child is sick for longer than a week, ½ fees apply where a doctor’s certificate is produced.
HOLIDAYS: Where the child has a holiday from kindergarten half fees may be granted. Prior written notification stating the length of the holiday will need to be given.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: There is no charge for public holidays.
Changing or FINISHING Enrolment: Two weeks’ notice is required for changing your child’s days of enrolment or withdrawing them from the kindergarten. Please be aware that days of attendance can only be changed if there is available space, so please inform us of this as soon as possible.
Please contact the kindergarten as soon as possible if you are running late. An extended session may be granted at a cost of $7.00 per hour. Late pick up from the last session of the day or without prior notification will be charged at $15.00 per 15 minutes.
Please feel free to talk to us about anything that’s on your mind. We are happy to answer any questions or look into any problems that may arise. We also have a complaint procedure displayed on the wall by the front entrance door. You may follow the procedure for things that you are not happy about.
